Skegness Attractions

Skegness itself is home to an ongoing environmental effort to keep seal numbers at a healthy level in The Wash, and it all happens at Natureland Seal Sanctuary on North Parade. You can see the seals being fed, and view dozens of other animals including sheep, goats, penguins, tarantulas and tropical butterflies.

The Skegness attractions don't stop there for nature-lovers - Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve offers hundreds of acres of unspoilt natural habitats for you to walk through, while outside town the Northcote Heavy Horse Centre and the National Parrot Sanctuary both walk the challenging line between attracting visitors and ensuring that their animals receive the best possible care.

What seaside town would be complete without its Pier? Skegness is no exception, where a visit to the Pier will light up your holiday with fun and action from some of the latest videogames, prize machines and outdoor activities that stretch as far as a pleasant walk along the main deck where you can relax and soak up the bracing Skeggy air.

The town's Embassy Theatre regularly welcomes a plethora of performers from comedians like the Chuckle Brothers to spectacular dance action from the Snow White on Ice team - and has even attracted the almost legendary Jools Holland for the resort's eagerly-awaited SO Festival 2010.

Up the coast in Ingoldmells, the mesmerising Fantasy Island combines rides large and small, both inside its colossal glass pyramid and outdoors with, the opportunity to browse through hundreds of stalls at Eastgate Market - the biggest indoor seven-day market in Europe.

Skegness Stadium sits just a few miles outside town, and is home to some of the biggest racing on the UK stox scene, not least of all events like the UK Speed Weekend and national championships across the stock car board.

The nearby market town of Wainfleet too can boast its own unique attraction - Bateman's Brewery. Here you can see just how a pint comes to life as you take a look at what has become an increasingly successful venue for both individual and corporate visits.
