Welcome to the Skegness Switched On and Festival of Brass Bands 2011. This is what we hope will be the first of an annual event raising much needed funds for the St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice. The Hospice and its Care
in the Home service is providing a much needed professional and caring service for the whole of Lincolnshire.
We declare at the outset that whilst
also raising the public awareness of
brass band music in the twenty-first
century, the main purpose for organising
this event in conjunction with the East
Lindsey District Council and the Skegness
Town Centre Management in particular, and SECWHA (Skegness East Coast& Wolds Hospitality Association), along with the Partnership is to raise as much capital as possible for the St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice through the generosity of the public at large.
We are indebted to all the bands taking part, not only for their wonderful music, but also their support by immediately giving their services freely to the cause and working with the organisers in the planning of this event.
We also owe a huge debt of gratitude
to East Lindsey District Council and
Skegness Town Centre Management,
for their assistance in this project.
Without them none of this would have
been possible. Likewise, the Skegness
Rotary Club, and their members
in their many different guises.
Without many people and organisations
this Festival could not take place and
the Brass Band Festival Committee are
most grateful to them, as there are
far too many to name individually.
Finally, many thanks to you, the public at
large for supporting us in our endeavours
Thank you all, most sincerely.
